Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam invites applications for filling up 1,487 Post Graduate Teachers in government and provincialized secondary schools in Assam. The eligibility requirements are postgraduate degree in relevant subject with B.Ed., and the age group between 21 to 38 years, with certain relaxations in the age criteria. Candidates should pass the TET examination and get themselves registered with employment exchange. Apply online by November 20, 2024.

Eligibility Criteria :
Age Limit
- Minimum: 21 years
- Maximum: 38 years (as of January 1, 2023)
Age Relaxation
- OBC/MOBC: 3 years
- SC/ST: 5 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 2 years
- PwD: 10 years
Educational Qualifications
- Academic: Postgraduate degree with at least 50% marks in the relevant subject from a recognized university.
- Professional: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from a National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)-recognized institution.
- Note: Off-campus or distance degrees are not valid.
Additional Eligibility Requirements :
- Small Family Norms: The applicants should not have more than two living children by January 1, 2021.
- Employment Exchange Registration: Candidates must be registered with any employment exchange.
- TET Teachers Eligibility Test: Only graduates who pass the recruitment test under TET for the post are eligible to become government teachers.
- Depending upon the medium of instruction of the school from where the applicant graduated (Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Bodo or English), the applicant would have studied or be competent in that language.

- Physical Fitness: Candidates must be physically and mentally fit and may need a medical examination.

Selection Process :
TET cum Recruitment Test Structure
- Pedagogy: 50 marks
- About Assam and its People: 50 marks
- General English: 30 marks
- General Studies & Current Affairs: 10 marks
The test will be held in selected districts, and candidates will choose their exam center while applying.
Merit List
The merit list will be created subject-wise based on TET scores, with up to three lists generated if vacancies remain unfilled.
